The Purpose and Missions of the Band

      • To encourage devotion to St. Patrick, co-patron of the Sacramento Catholic Diocese, known for his great Faith.

      • To maintain a bagpipe band in the Sacramento area for lay-Catholic men & boys, providing musical support in Catholic processions & pro-life events.

      • To encourage virtue among band members and listening audiences, performing martial music, bearing in mind and spirit the Jesuit motto:  “Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!”

      • To compete at an appropriately graded level in the Western U.S. Pipe Band Association, as a means to improving skills and promoting unity among the members.

      • To develop the qualities of leadership in band youth members.

      • To pray for each other, band benefactors, and the success and missions of the band.

      • To sing traditional canntaireachd (gaelic--"sung music"), and learn traditional bagpipe and drum musical notation.
