Band Description, Origin & Founding

We are a bagpipe and drum band for lay Catholics, located in the Catholic Diocese of Sacramento, California.

It is a parish boys' club, similar in organization to the Boy Scouts or Columbian Squires & was founded on 3/10/07 by some parishioners of St. Stephen's Catholic Church.

At that time Parish Rector, Fr. Robert Novokowsky, F.S.S.P.
gave his blessings and agreed to be the founding band Chaplain.

Band Coat of Arms
as originally designed by Mrs. Erin Reilley

Band Motto
The band motto is taken from two lines of a prayer attributed to St. Patrick:
St. Patrick's Breastplate Prayer or The Lorica

In Latin:
"Christus in omni oculo me vidente.  Christus in omni aure me audiente."

The translation is:
"Christ in Every Eye That Sees Me.  Christ in Every Ear That Hears Me."
